4,500-year-old records reveal secrets of Khufu pyramid construction
Archaeologists began excavations in Wadi el-Jarf in the Eastern Desert in 2011, over 200 km from the Giza Plateau. They discovered records dating to approximately 4,500 years ago that shed new light on the organization of Khufu pyramid construction. The find proved groundbreaking — previously it was thought the site might contain Greco-Roman catacombs.
