Sydney airport: runway incidents 20% above national average
Australia's Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) is investigating staffing shortages as a key factor in four serious incidents at Sydney airport in July and August. Risk models used by air traffic control operators showed elevated fatigue risk during this period. The number of runway incursions and near-miss situations is 20% higher than the national average.
