Child and two women die during English Channel crossing
On Monday off the coast of northern France near Calais, three people died: a 10-year-old child and two women. According to French authorities, the victims were trampled on an overcrowded boat carrying over 100 migrants when the boat encountered difficulties during the English Channel crossing. These pontoons pick up people from northern French beaches where migrants wade into the sea to board them.
