Sejm advances parental care reform: alternating custody as the default
A bill has been submitted to parliament that would change the rules for child custody after parental separation. Alternating custody — where a child alternates between living with each parent — would become the standard rather than the exception. Conflict between former partners would no longer be sufficient grounds for a court to deviate from this model. The bill also proposes changes to child support calculations and child benefit eligibility.
