Tax authority demands 19% tax from Zondacrypto clients who never received funds

The tax office is demanding that clients of the bankrupt Zondacrypto exchange pay 19% tax on cryptocurrency sales even though they never actually received money from the transactions — because the exchange went bankrupt. There are two different tax interpretations of this situation. The tax authority takes the position that merely entering into a sale transaction creates a tax obligation, regardless of whether funds reached the taxpayer.
