Psychologist: "I don't want to be Catholic" doesn't always mean loss of faith in God

Angelika Szelągowska-Mironiuk, a psychologist and therapist and author of "Book of Exodus: How Poles Leave the Church," explains that leaving the Church takes many forms — from formal apostasy to gradual decline in religious practice. Some people return after years; others seek spirituality outside Catholicism. Decisions to leave are motivated by various reasons, not necessarily loss of faith in God.
