Wadephul meets Lavrov: first such meeting since invasion

German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul met with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in New York on the margins of the UN General Assembly session — the first such meeting since Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Wadephul was said to have urged Russia to abandon the path of escalation toward Germany, Europe and NATO.
