Hungarian opposition leader Magyar loses immunity over phone theft allegations

Hungary's parliament unanimously stripped opposition leader Peter Magyar of parliamentary immunity on Monday, enabling the resumption of proceedings from 2024 concerning suspected phone theft. Magyar himself requested the removal of his immunity. On the same day, lawmakers also stripped immunity from two former ministers of Viktor Orbán.
