US reveals hypersonic missile "Blackbeard" under F/A-18 fighter for first time

The US military released footage showing a new air-launched hypersonic missile mounted on an F/A-18 Super Hornet — a weapon the US did not previously possess. This is the first public display of the weapon, unofficially called "Blackbeard". Hypersonic missiles travel at speeds exceeding five times the speed of sound, making them exceptionally difficult to shoot down.
