Unredeemed prepaid top-ups: 27 million zloty went to telecom regulator instead of users
Nearly 27 million zloty from unredeemed prepaid account top-ups went this year to the account of the Electronic Communications Office — the result of the first settlement under the new Electronic Communications Law that took effect in late 2024. The funds were supposed to go to the National Health Fund but have not been transferred yet. The money was lost to customers who did not claim or use their top-ups within the deadline.
