USA and China cut tariffs by 30 billion USD, open AI dialogue
During Xi Jinping's visit to Washington, the USA and China agreed to mutual tariff reductions worth 30 billion USD on goods deemed strategically non-sensitive. The American side includes agricultural products, seafood and medical devices; China gains easier access to the US market for toys, small appliances and child car seats. The agreement also covers Beijing's purchase of American coal and soy and establishes a formal dialogue channel on artificial intelligence, though the most difficult technological and economic issues remain unresolved.
