New hybrid perovskite sets thermal insulation record
US scientists developed a hybrid organic-inorganic perovskite with exceptionally low thermal conductivity. The new material is at the same time significantly stiffer than foams and aerogels previously considered the best insulators. The discovery may launch a new direction in thermal insulation technology, with potential applications in construction and industry.
