IEA: electricity share in global energy mix could rise to 35% by 2035

According to a special report by the International Energy Agency, electricity's share of global final energy consumption could rise from the current 23% to 35% by 2035. However, the IEA judges that the current pace of electrification is too slow for energy transition needs. Accelerating electrification was identified as key to meeting climate goals.
