Italian senate approves return to nuclear energy after 38 years

The Italian senate passed a nuclear energy law, opening the way to reactivate atomic plants shut down after the 1987 referendum. Italians voted against nuclear power then under the influence of the Chornobyl disaster. After nearly 40 years, Rome decided to return to nuclear power as part of its climate and energy policy.
