CERT Poland chief: 90% of backups encrypted in ransomware attacks

Marcin Dudek, head of CERT Poland, warns that during ransomware attacks criminals encrypt as much as 90% of backups. Other serious threats include vulnerable edge devices, lack of two-factor authentication, and the fact that sometimes only hours pass between the discovery of a vulnerability and its exploitation by hackers. Polish organizations still have significant gaps in cybersecurity culture.
