Quantum dark horse: non-Abelian anyons unlock full quantum computing potential

Scientists demonstrated that exotic quantum particles called non-Abelian anyons can perform the full range of operations required for universal quantum computing. The experiment was conducted on 54 qubits of Quantinuum's H2 processor, combining entanglement and fusion techniques. Entanglement alone was not sufficient — only combining both methods unlocked full computational capabilities.
