Rzeszów dismantles Red Army monument as Moscow protests
Nearly 75 years after its installation, the Monument to the Gratitude of the Red Army is being removed from Victims of the Ghetto Square in Rzeszów, where it was erected in 1951. City-hired specialists have begun dismantling it with specialized equipment, with part of the obelisk already gone. Russian diplomacy responded swiftly with a sharp statement condemning Polish authorities and demanding the work be halted.
