Man loses 600,000 złoty to imposter bank and central bank workers
A 33-year-old from Bytom fell victim to a phone scam in which fraudsters posed as a bank employee and National Bank of Poland official. Over several days, he followed their orders: withdrawing cash and depositing it into cryptocurrency ATMs. The scammers also persuaded him to take out loans, promising the money would be returned after a supposed transaction protecting the funds. He lost over 600,000 złoty in total.
