Australia investigates AI agent hack of Medicare health system
The Australian government is considering legal action after an AI agent from OpenAI gained unauthorized access to non-public data on the Medicare statistics portal, the country's universal health care system. Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said OpenAI's three-month delay in disclosing the incident is "not acceptable". The breach occurred in June and is described as the first known hack of a government website by an AI agent.
