ESMA to oversee Bitcoin, Ethereum and tokenized assets in Europe

The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) has decided to subject cryptocurrency markets, including Bitcoin and Ethereum, and tokenized assets to enhanced oversight. The change aims to reform how financial markets are controlled across the European Union. Planned controls will cover the entire crypto sector operating in Europe.
