Brain resolves conflicting visual signals on its own

Researchers discovered that the brain has a built-in "consensus-building" mechanism between areas processing the same image. Matching signals between two visual areas persist longer, while conflicting ones fade quickly. This mechanism may explain how the brain combines multiple specialized inputs into one coherent image of the world.
