Appeals court reduces sentence of Gaiki abuser from life to 25 years

Mateusz Jach imprisoned a woman named Małgorzata in a home storage room in Gaiki for four years — beating, starving, humiliating and sexually abusing her. The trial court sentenced him to life imprisonment, but the appeals court reduced the sentence to 25 years. The court revealed the reasons for this decision, which proved surprising.
