NFZ from 2027: end of visiting physicians for orthopedic and urological surgery

Starting January 2027, major orthopedic and urological operations will only be permitted in departments with full facilities on-site. NFZ aims to eliminate the practice of so-called "suitcase doctors" — specialists who travel only for procedures. The changes will also cover primary healthcare and increase patient safety.
