Impostor posing as soldier from Yemen swindled 50,000 zlotys from pensioner

A 71-year-old resident of Ząbkowice county lost more than 50,000 zlotys through so-called romance fraud. A criminal posing as a soldier stationed in Yemen spent a long time building a relationship with the woman online, declaring love and promising a shared future. Only after gaining her trust did he ask for money—first for phone top-ups, then for a ticket to Poland.
