Russia cuts 2026 gas forecast. EU completes exit from Russian gas

Russia's economic ministry lowered its 2026 gas production forecast to 683.1 billion cubic meters — 5.3 billion cubic meters less than projected in May. The revision comes as the European Union finalizes its exit from Russian gas imports. Moscow is trying to redirect exports to Asia but cannot quickly compensate for the loss of the European market.
