Woman loses 375,000 zloty in inheritance scam targeting seniors
A 60-year-old resident of Lubaczów county reported to police on Sunday that she fell victim to an internet fraud. Through social media and messaging apps, she contacted someone posing as a sick French woman with no family, who promised her 728,000 euros in exchange for successive "inheritance fees." The woman transferred nearly 375,000 zloty to the provided accounts. Police urge people not to send money to strangers met online.
