PSE chief: Poland has enough coal for winter, but power plants aging
The president of Polish Power Grid Company assures that, assuming a normal winter, coal should not run out, though it will be more expensive and increasingly imported. A more serious problem is the technical condition of coal-fired plants built during Edward Gierek's era — these facilities are in increasingly poor shape. Additionally, new gas units meant to replace them are experiencing construction delays.
