Drug removing aging cells greatly speeds skin healing in mice
Scientists discovered that topical application of a substance removing aging and damaged cells—senescent cells—significantly accelerated skin wound healing in older mice. The treatment reactivated biological pathways responsible for inflammation, collagen production, and new blood vessel formation. Results open prospects for anti-aging drugs for humans, though testing has so far been limited to animals.
