GLP-1 drugs cause nutritional deficiencies in one in six children

New research found that nearly one in six children taking GLP-1 drugs (including Victoza, Saxenda, Trulicity, Ozempic) for obesity, prediabetes, or type 2 diabetes developed a diagnosed nutritional deficiency within a year of starting therapy. The most common problem was vitamin D deficiency, affecting about 12% of young patients. The study's authors note this risk is often overlooked by doctors and parents.
