Google fined €403 million for tracking user locations

Ireland's Data Protection Commission (DPC) imposed a total €403 million penalty on Google for GDPR violations involving the processing of location data. The regulator found that users may not have known their location information was being used to personalize ads and profile interests. This is one of the largest fines issued against Google in Europe.
