OpenAI and Altman sued for inaction before school shooting

British Columbia sued OpenAI and CEO Sam Altman following a school shooting in Tumbler Ridge that killed nine people. Provincial authorities claim the company was aware of concerning conversations the perpetrator had with ChatGPT before the attack but failed to alert police. This is one of the first lawsuits of its kind against the chatbot's creator.
