AI chatbots serving content from EU-sanctioned Russian media
Reporters Without Borders tested six AI chatbots, asking for material from RT, Sputnik and other Russian media under EU sanctions. Three provided full summaries with links and quotes — sometimes even after encountering pages that explicitly mentioned sanctions against these sources. The study suggests AI systems may inadvertently serve as a distribution channel for Russian propaganda, circumventing EU restrictions.
