European Commission proposes unlocking 4.2 billion euros for Hungary

The European Commission on Wednesday proposed releasing 4.2 billion euros (approximately 18.3 billion złoty) from the cohesion fund for Hungary. The funds were frozen in 2022 due to rule-of-law violations under Viktor Orbán's government. The decision marks a breakthrough in Budapest-Brussels relations.
