Court increases ex-policeman's sentence to 30 years for priest's murder
The Appellate Court in Katowice on Wednesday increased the sentence for Tomasz Jelonek (52), a former policeman convicted of killing Rev. Grzegorz Dymek (†58) in Kłobuck, from 20 to 30 years in prison. Jelonek, financially indebted, knew that money was kept at the parish after Christmas caroling and attacked the priest in a garage after he returned home. The victim's brother, Andrzej Dymek, thanked the court for the harsher sentence.
