Former intelligence chief: Russia has operational plans to attack Suwalki Corridor
Col. Andrzej Derlatka, former head of the Polish Intelligence Agency, assessed that Russian and Belarusian military staffs possess operational plans for confrontation with NATO, and opening a corridor to Kaliningrad through the Suwalki Corridor remains in their direct interest. Derlatka noted that the Baltic states—Lithuania and Latvia—face the greatest threat today, and a potential attack might bypass Polish territory. He stressed that NATO must strengthen eastern flank defenses to deter Russian escalation.
