Record iron ingot hoard reveals vast trade networks in Iron Age

Archaeologists have discovered a cache of iron ingots weighing one ton—the largest such treasure found to date. The discovery dates to the Iron Age and provides evidence of extensive trade networks during that period. The amount of iron would have been sufficient to forge approximately 500 swords.
