10 million Poles without sewerage: sewage flows to Baltic Sea
An investigation titled "Septic Tank" reveals that 10 million Poles rely on septic tanks and home treatment plants, with massive amounts of sewage seeping into soil, rivers and the Baltic Sea. According to Artur Furdyna of the Rewilding Pomerania Foundation, agriculture accounts for 70 percent of Baltic pollution, industry 20 percent, and domestic sewage only 10 percent. The investigation airs on Polish Radio.
