EU removes sanctions from Usmanov and Fridman, extending restrictions on nearly 3,000 entities

The European Union has decided to remove Russian billionaires Alisher Usmanov and Mikhail Fridman from its sanctions list. At the same time, it extended restrictions for another three years on nearly 3,000 individuals and firms linked to Russian aggression against Ukraine. The decision came after difficult negotiations—EU sanctions require unanimity from all 27 member states.
