Guterres at final UN Assembly: multilateral system is falling apart
UN Secretary-General António Guterres warned at his final General Assembly of a deepening crisis in multilateral cooperation and called for reforms to the Security Council. The day was also dominated by talks about war: Trump met with Zelenskyy, both declaring a will to end the conflict before winter. The US also held three-hour talks with Iranian mediators, which Trump called "very good" — though earlier that day he threatened Iran with destruction. Speakers at the forum included Zelenskyy and Iran's President Pezeshkian.
