Fatal S8 crash: 39-year-old arrested for fleeing scene
A Mercedes driver from Podlaskie province hit a Seat from behind on expressway S8 near Prosienice and fled the scene, abandoning the vehicle. The 30-year-old passenger of the Seat died despite resuscitation. Police detained the 39-year-old at a nearby fuel station. The prosecutor charged him with causing a fatal crash, fleeing the scene, and failing to provide aid — he faces up to 20 years in prison. The court imposed a three-month pre-trial detention.
