Andersson returns to power in Sweden, pledges to strengthen EU
Former Swedish Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson of the Social Democrats won a tight election against the right and far-right, preparing to resume office after four years in opposition. In conversation with Politico, Andersson pledged to prioritize strengthening the European Union against threats from Russia, unpredictable United States, and rising China. As a country with strong EU standing, Sweden should play a key role in building European strength, she said.
