King Charles III refers Jamaican slavery reparations petition to Privy Council
King Charles III has referred a historic Jamaican petition on slavery reparations to the Privy Council in London – the highest appellate court for British overseas territories and some Commonwealth nations. Jamaican culture minister Olivia Grange told parliament about the decision, calling the monarch's move "really a big matter". The petition was submitted in person during a visit to Britain earlier this month.
