Tusk urges Nawrocki to sign alcohol excise tax bill
The government plans to consider on Tuesday a bill raising excise tax on alcohol and VAT on non-alcoholic wine and beer. Prime Minister Donald Tusk emphasized that the new taxes would generate 1.4 billion zloty and go entirely to healthcare. A previous excise increase attempt ended in presidential veto; now Tusk has appealed to President Karol Nawrocki to sign the new version, which explicitly states the health purpose.
