First avalanche warning in Tatras as snow arrives before autumn calendar date

Snow and winter conditions appeared on Tatra trails before the calendar start of autumn. TOPR rescue teams issued level 1 avalanche warning above 1800 m — the first such alert of the current season. Conditions on trails deteriorated sharply and tourists should exercise particular caution.
