EU deadlocked on Russia sanctions: Poland appeals, France and Slovakia block

Polish Deputy Foreign Minister Ignacy Niemczycki stated in Brussels that Poland supports the strictest possible sanctions against those backing the Russian regime. He expressed hope that EU countries would reach agreement by midnight on extending expiring sanctions. France and Slovakia oppose expanding the sanctions list, protecting oligarchs linked to Russia.
