Ozempic increases regurgitation risk 11-fold during anesthesia

British research found that patients taking Ozempic and similar GLP-1 drugs are 11 times more likely to experience regurgitation — stomach contents backing up into the throat — during general anesthesia. This previously unknown complication may pose serious risk during surgery. Doctors may need to modify anesthetic procedures for such patients.
