Lachie Neale suspended: Brisbane Lions without star in grand AFL final

Australian player Lachie Neale of Brisbane Lions will not play in Saturday's AFL finals after a league tribunal upheld his suspension for deliberately striking Hawthorn's Jack Ginnivan in the previous match. The two-time Brownlow Medal winner — the competition's most prestigious award — has never been suspended in 320 matches. His lawyers cited "exceptional circumstances," but the appeal was rejected.
