Evonik eliminates 6,000 jobs due to chemical industry crisis

German chemical company Evonik announced on Tuesday a plan to eliminate 3,200 jobs by the end of 2029, with most in Germany. The company points to a structural crisis in the chemical industry, rising energy prices and intensifying international competition. Overall, the company plans to reduce 6,000 positions.
