New sign for speed enforcement zones: speed limit displayed on board

The National Road Safety Council has approved a pilot project for a new D-51a sign that will indicate both the start of a speed enforcement zone and the applicable speed limit. The B-33 symbol with the permitted speed will appear in the lower left corner of a blue board. The solution will be tested experimentally on selected highway and expressway sections, with study results to determine whether it will be permanently incorporated into regulations.
