Stopping Ozempic raises heart attack and stroke risk by 22 percent

A large study found that cardiovascular benefits of GLP-1 drugs—such as Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro and Zepbound—disappear surprisingly quickly after discontinuation. Patients who stopped taking them had a 22 percent higher risk of heart attack, stroke and death after two years compared to those continuing therapy.
